Jombang, Malang, and Jember hosted the Socialization and Promotion activities of the French Language Education Department, Faculty of Language, Arts and Culture (FBSB), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), on November 18-20, 2024. This activity aims to introduce educational and career opportunities in the field of French to high school students, while supporting the fourth point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely Quality Education.

The activity implementation team consists of competent lecturers, namely Dr. Rohali, Dr. Siti Perdi Rahayu, Dr. Tri Kusnawati, Dr. Andi Mustofa, and Tika Zuleika, M.Pd. In this activity, students gain insight into the importance of mastering a foreign language, especially French, to face global challenges in the future. The activity began on November 18, 2024 at SMA Negeri Jogoroto, Jombang, with high enthusiasm from students and teachers. The following day, the team continued the socialization to SMA Negeri 5 Malang, SMA Negeri 6 Malang, and SMA Negeri 1 Sumberpucung Malang. This series of activities was closed on November 20, 2024 at SMA Negeri Jenggawah, Jember, with a positive response from various parties.

During the activity, participants were introduced to various academic programs at the UNY French Language Education Department, available scholarships, and job opportunities for graduates in the fields of education, translation, tourism, and the creative industry. Students were also invited to interact directly through interactive quizzes and question and answer sessions that built enthusiasm for learning foreign languages. By targeting areas outside big cities, this activity reflects UNY's commitment to providing inclusive and equitable access to education, in line with the SDGs mission to create quality education for all.
